Boonage

Went back to my hometown to celebrate my grandma’s Big Day on sat! And the story starts when i started going back to Kuala Lumpur using the Karak Highway. All along the way from my hometown to Bentong was fine, nothing happen and the traffic was super smooth (as usuall does). Then when reach the Karak Highway, after getting out from the Bentong exit and make a U-turn going towards the first toll, OMG! The jam i never saw before so far happended here!

Before even passing the toll, (around 500m away from the toll entrance) the cars were already jammed from there! Cars hardly move, we were initially at the “SmartTag” lane, but we soon switched lane after we noticed the other lanes were actually moving slowly while the “SmartTag” lane wasn’t at all! And after we enter the toll, saw the “SmartTag” lane was actually blocked by the staffs there. For what reason i don’t know, but what i know is if those guy still continue blocking there, they will sure get it from those drivers queue-ing on that lane!

After we pass the toll, we began to see how terrible it was the jam, all the way up to the hill and we still can’t manage to see the caused of it. Cars from 5 lanes from the toll exit are all squeezing into 1 lane, can you imagine that? After having around 20minutes spending there moving not more then 200m, we started to see cars passing by us using the opposite lane.

Initially we was wondering how the hell those car get to the opposite lane, then when we looked back, yup! the highway guys free-ing up 1 lane from the opposite and allow cars to take into this opposite lane immediately right after the toll. And we can see a lot of cars trying to rush into this small exit.

Another 10 - 15 minutes spent there again and finally reached the top of the hill, and we finally saw what happened! Guess what? ROAD MAINTAINENCE!!

The whole maintainence thing took the 1 whole lane! and guess what again! Nobody was working there, contrustion vehicles are just parked there. Sunday…and they can’t just think that Sunday a lot of people will be going back to Kuala Lumpur and this is the shortest way?! Ya, maybe if they really can’t finish the maintainence on time, why don’t they just do the road extend on the opposite road earlier? Highway they call this! Funny! and raised the toll price for these kind of road, for what?! Pathetic!

While passing by those construction site, saw a lot of cars with the hood wide open. I guess you know what happened. Pity these cars have to stop by and let the engine water to cool down…I do hope the maintainence job for this highway to be done quickly and but of course nicely. Frankly speaking this highway i could say each time i go back to my hometown, i can see maintainence or renovation going on somewhere in the middle, it is like never-ending and caused a lot of trouble for those who use this highway often. Please do make us feel that the hike of the toll price is worthed!
