Sunshine
Yupe, went for this movie “Sunshine” today. After watching this movie, I really can’t wait to come back and write about this movie. So why am I so eager on writing about this? Was it that nice? Sorry man, is the total opposite of what you are thinking, the movie was a total disappointment (I wouldn’t say it as a crap though).
This Sci-Fi movie was plotted somewhere far on the future where the Sun is getting weaker and weaker and eventually about to die off. 7 years before, a ship - Icarus I was launched with a number of crew carrying the payload (stellar bomb) going for the mission to re-ignite the sun, but it was reported missing and the mission was declared failure. 7 years later a similar ship - Icarus with 8 crew member set out to the sun with the same mission and same payload. Before reaching the Sun, they found out that the missing ship Icarus I was somewhere nearby. Due to the wish of having a second payload which will double up the chances on the succes for re-igniting the Sun, they decided to change their course towards Icarus I. However, Trey did a terrible mistake whereby he forgotten to correct the shield angle while he change the course of the ship and caused the shield to suffer some minor damage and need to be fixed to avoid the ship from having direct exposed to the Sun. It was fixed succesfully but it caused casualty of their captain. 7 of them continue their journey to Icarus I and 4 of the men set of to explore the Icarus I. The whole ship was full of human ashes and they couldn’t find any single survivor of the ship. During their search, their own ship Icarus suddenly lost its stability and was forced to move away from Icarus I. 3 of the 4 men decided to blast through their way back to the ship with the help of the impact of the airlock, but leaving 1 man, Dr Searle to manually unlock the airlock. Although 3 people were being launch together but only 2 of them arrive in the ship succesfully. So they have no choice but to resume their mission with the oxygen risk. However, their risk have gotten bigger as they found out that there’s an uninvited guest was on board from the Icarus I - Pinbacker, who was the captain of the Icarus I. He claimed that they weren’t suppose to oppose the Gods will and planned to kill all the remaining crews one by one and infiltrated the command centre of the ships and shutted down main power stopping all the controls. Upon going through all the killing and struggles, Capa was able to get himself away from being killed by Pinbacker succeeded on igniting the Sun with the cost of his life in the end as well. Therefore this ignition did success and they completed their mission on re-igniting the Sun.

the 8 crew members of Icarus
The movie started straight on the spaceship where they almost reached the Sun, never showed the earth ever during the whole movie (the ending exclude). It was really predictable on who will die next, nothing special. There was actually a very funny part which I doesn’t know whether is it the producer or film editor purposely do it or what. When those 4 crew member went into the Icarus I to explore, once their torchlight fully shine on the screen where the whole screen becomes white for a split of second, a big human smiling face suddenly appear. At first I thought it was just my imagination, but it did clearly visible again when one of the member’s torchlight shine on the screen again. Man, whether it was purposely or a mistake, it doesn’t really brought out the creepiness during the exploration of Icarus I. The first half of the movie was a total boringness, when entering the second half where Pinbacker came into the picture, it became ridiculous! A captain survived 7 years in the castaway spaceship, reappearing with the appearance of a half skin covered flesh human acting like a space Alien killer. Lolz! Honestly, if to compare with The Core, The Core was way better than this! Maybe some of you might like this but for me, neh! I don’t really like it. Hence I give Sunshine a rating of 2/10.

Really that bad? I’ve read some pretty good reviews about it, though I haven’t watch it myself.
Rabbit: Go watch TMNT

@Rabbit: to me yes, it only worth that much. Lately, hmmm, TMNT I not yet watch, dun really give much high expectation on it though. You could try Shooter or Hannibal Rising
I not yet watch Hannibal Rising yet, but it seems quite ok but is typical Horror movie
@Aeres: Well, if you are those Sci-Fi movie super fans then you might like it. But due to my expectation to be better then The Core, as they technically belongs to the same genuine, so i couldn’t help to give a pretty bad review on it.
