Proton-WBF World Championship 2007 QF

Just finsihed watching our Malaysia Star Double player – Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong playing their quarter final game in Bukit Jalil for the Proton-WBF World Championship, through broadcast of course. Their opponent was a pair of young japanese player which I can’t recall their name (paiseh).

The game went through a total of 3 rounds, where the first round KKK and TBH weren’t at their best form. Things weren’t worked out as they wanted to and plus the japanese couple weren’t weak in fact they are damn good! Their couch is a former national player from Korea. This first round really can be said was the worst performance I’d ever since so far since they shoot out from no where and won the gold medal during Doha XV Asian Games back in year 2006, so they end up losing this first round by the score of 13 – 21

Things did not went right as well for the second round until when their points were in 7 and the japanese’s was 4 points ahead. At this point they finally changed their style of playing. More on defensive now and from there they start showing what they usually showed to the crowd. Their thunder reflex speed and magnificent defence manage to won a trembling cheer from the crowd. The environment was really brighten up! Yes, their spirit were back and they did not fail the cheering crowed by winning back the second match with the score 21 – 17.

Third match I tell you, this could be the most exciting match I’d ever seen. The gap of the points was very very close through out the whole third match! All the attacking the japanese had on to the Malaysian pair and also the defensive stand where the Malaysian pair put on to save all the attack from japan, also vice versa. All the smashing, jumping, dive save etc really was so damn great! There were even few times where the shuttlecock actually landed on the japanese’s head. lolz! When the point reached to the 18 – 18, it get even more exciting! You can actually see how all 4 of them trying to hard to save the ball regardless on how they badly fall on the ground. The points went from 18 – 18, to 20 – 20 where they actually had to deuce. It did not end fast eventhough it deuced. Both of the team really putting on a great fight to prevent the opponent from winning. The environment was so damn tense! Still…silly mistake made by Tan Boon Heong was too critical and in the end they end up losing the match with the score of 23 – 25.

Though they lose the match but this really is a match that really worth to remember! Those who had watched this match I am sure you can feel the excitement while watching! Well done both of them!

well, everyone also has their moment on reaching their most proud period and will eventually fall down because of over proud. The God is fair..

but seriously, japan aren’t weak either, just that they had less experience that’s all, skill they certainly has it!
