The Warlords

The Warlords
Another Jet Li’s movie. Yesterday was the initial screen date and I went for it. Due to the same screening date with The Legend also the recent movie Golden Compass, so we manage to get ourselves the tickets. So many people there yesterday night as if today is a holiday to them. Not to say hard to find parking, you can hardly find any nice place to stand while waiting for the entrance. Anyway, about the movie ahead so might have spoiler
Pang (Jet Li) who was an ex-general of the Ching’s army survived from the annihilation, he met with Wu Yang (Takeshi Kaneshiro) and Er-Hu (Andy Lau), 3 of them swore to the god with the foreign blood that they will die to protect each other and never betray each other with the relation of The Blood Brothers. Together with 800 of their man, they joined the Ching’s army to fight the rebellions to regain the Ching’s previous stronghold - NanKing, in order to stop the suffering live of the citizens. Jet Li, from the overall big picture, is the so called villian, he want to achieve his dream where none of the weak should be bullied and in order to achieve this dream, he sacrificed a lot of lifes. Andy Lau on the other hand was a person who puts brotherhood in first place always, he will try to minimize the number of sacrifices as much as possible, just because of this both Jet Li and Andy Lau often had conflict on their way of doing things and Jet Li had no choice but to kill Andy Lau to avoid any obstacle upon maintaining his dream. Takeshi who was the most naive among the blood brothers, he believe what Jet Li’s act was right and Andy Lau should follow him, but in the end after he found out that there’s an affair between Jet Li and Andy Lau’s wife plus Andy Lau’s death that is related to Jet Li, he hated Jet Li and wanted to kill him not because of the affair, but breaking the promise which they made - Never Betray (Kill) Each Other!
Is a very meaningful movie, though the fighting scene weren’t much but the action of Jet Li is still no doubt remarkable! Ermm, again not suitable for people who hope much of action, this is more on story base and acting skill. Tell you, when u see the main actress you will laugh because she’s just like a woman which need satisfication from man!
Movie Rating : 7/10
P/S: forgive me with the bad english..
