In the Philippines, we have this funny expression also–

Like for example you are eating then a friend comes over and you say, “Kain tayo.” (Let’s eat.)

It’s really funny, ‘coz you don’t really expect the other person to really eat–just a polite expression.

I was thinking what if the person is very “innocent” and answers “Ok, I want to eat!” Hahahahaha…but of course you really don’t have anything to offer.
